Repurposing otherwise thrown away components from retired trams. The pantographs are originally mounted on the rooftop of trams in order to collect electricity from the overhead wire just like trains and trolley buses. The pantographs are meant to be folded up so this spring loaded mechanism can be used to adjust height just like those flexible desk / workshop lamps. Without modifying heavily the idea was to retain as much original components of the pantographs as possible including the insulated mounts. There are two variation - a floor lamp variant and a suspended chandelier version.
